The Vegan Option: Gili Air

We only spent a couple of nights on Gili Air, which was plenty for us. We rode bikes around, spent time at the beach, ate great food, went to a party at one of the beach bars, and relaxed.

Gili Air is an island that belongs to Lombok, another country that has a lot of already vegan local dishes like Gado Gado. But aside from that, you can easily find  smoothie bowls, salads and much more!

Pachamama Organic - Pachamama is an organic cafe and a private villa on the north east side of the island. We found this spot and enjoyed eating here twice, talking to the owner the first time. She's vegan, but her husband isn't. For that reason, they serve one burger, but are vegan otherwise.  I enjoyed their Nana Toast the most!

You can dine outside on the terrace or if you prefer, downstairs in the Igloo. Yes, there's an Igloo!

The Mexican Kitchen - One night we had dinner and drinks at The Mexican Kitchen. Photos didn't turn out great, unfortunately, but we loved it! The staff was super cool and they were knowledgeable about what items could be done vegan (and there are a lot of options!). It's right on the beach and had some tequila and delicious margaritas. Being from California, I can't really judge Mexican food fairly but I'll just say that it was fresh, flavorful, delicious and we loved the vibe. They had great music, also!
