Whoa, week 8, already? We are talking about Gurus (@ilovegurus) and their products as they're giving a lucky follower a rad pair of their flip-flops! I've been so aware of it's progression, peak, and falling towards fall and the differences within myself as I co-exist with my surroundings. Summer seems so much shorter than it used to, especially as a kid! It helps to show me that the moments that make life special can be short and fleeting so it's best to practice staying present within those moments and getting the most out of each one, rather than worrying about unnecessary details or trying to control things we cannot. Just flow with the current of your life, seeing yourself as your infinite Self sees you - as perfect and beautiful.
A Brief Exercise in Self-Love
Close your eyes and take a few breaths (read it all the way first through, obviously!) :) Allow yourself to relax any tension in your face - the muscles in the cheeks, around the bridge of the nose, release the jaw, the inner ears... Allow that relaxation to spread around your body. Take a few moments to imagine your partner, best friend, parent or sibling describing you as "beautiful" or "special" to another person when you're not around. Imagine what they would say about you, how they would describe you. Focusing only on all of the positive and wonderful qualities about yourself, you'll carry this sentiment and appreciation for your Self and others with you through the day, the week, the rest of the summer, and into all seasons!

Prem & Joe, CEO & President of Gurus, respectively, both have ancestors in India but came to know one another through work in New York. Coincedentally (or not), 5 years after meeting, they found out that their family’s lived within walking distance from eachother in India. Both of their families have rubber farms in India where they source fresh rubber from for their sandals (they make cool mats, too!).
The design of the Gurus flip-flop draws inspirations from thousands of years of Indian heritage. On a trip to India, the founders found a traditional Indian wooden sandal that they modeled their Gurus after - the design is both functional and unique.
